The Scout Guide Movement is basically a Youth Movement. The program has been designed with amendments for the all-round development of the personality of the youth up to the age of twenty-five. This was also the dream and foresight of Lord Baden Powell, the founding father of the Movement.

Bishop Westcott Boys’ School, Namkum is now a part of this movement. An introductory three Day Camp (13th Nov to 15th Nov 2024) was organised for the Boarders of Classes V to VIII. They learnt to gather a sense of co-operation, camaraderie, group dynamics, sportsmanship and some life skills to live peacefully in any situation. Camp fires and making tents added up to their fun.

The Scouts and Guides now shall be an integral part of the school curriculum. We are thankful to our Principal, Mr. J. J. Edwin for taking a keen initiative to introduce this Programme to the school and helping to our students with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, team-building, self esteem, leadership skills and reinforce ethical standards.

We are also very grateful to Mr. Denzil Charles, District Secretary, Scouts and Guides, Ranchi and Mr. Kunal Sharma: Training commissioner, Scouts and Guides Ranchi, for training our students and helping them to understand the benefits of the scouts and guides programme.
